Hey, Leo here again, and as I'm sure you know, opening day in the U.S.A was yesterday(wednesday,April 4). The Marlins and the Cardinals faced off in Miami's new stadium in an exciting first game. In the bottom of the 1st inning, the cards had runners on second and third and World Series MVP David Freese at the plate. Off Marlins ace Josh Johnson, Freese lined a single in to left field and drove in two RBI's. He also had a run scored. Kyle Lohse, I need not mention, was easily the star, throwing 7.1 innings, allowing 2 hits with 3 K's and an earned run. Rafael Furcal helped a bit by going 3-5 with a double, an RBI, and a stolen base. On to the Marlins. Jose Reyes was playing his first game as a marlin and the rest of the team playing their first game in Miami. Before the beginning of the season, Hanley Ramirez moved over to third to make room for the incoming star. Jose Reyes went 2-4 in his first game, but Ramirez went a troubling 0-4. Josh Johnson was also less than perfect. He threw just 6 innings and gave up 10 hits, 3 earned runs, and 4 strikeouts. John Buck had a double and an RBI, but it wasn't enough as Jason Motte grabbed his first save in the Cardinals win. The Cardinals recorded 13 hits to the Marlins 4 and your final is Cardinals 4, Marlins 1.
